Black Bear Management in Alberta

CRI are pleased to announce that the Government of Alberta, Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) on April 18, 2018 released the "Alberta Orphaned Black Bear Cub Rehabilitation Protocol".  This means that Wildlife Rehabilitation facilities in Alberta who wish to rehabilitate and release Black Bear Cubs may do so as directed in the protocol once they have been approved by AEP.

Cochrane Ecological Institute the charity arm of CRI will be one of the few facilities in Alberta that can and will accept Black Bear Cubs starting this year.

We would like to thank the province of Alberta for their work on this protocol and their acceptance of Black Bear Cub Rehabilitation as a positive Conservation Activity.
